Kara Wilson

Kara officially joined the TeamMak family in October 2023 after 2 years of running the check-in desk at Melbourne events. She is an organiser extraordinaire planning speaker’s trips, being the go-to person on event days and making sure there is a spreadsheet for EVERYTHING! This is her first official position in events management but she is no stranger to the world of show business.

Kara spent the first quarter of her life working professionally as a singer, actor, dancer and acrobatics. She travelled the world performing and studying all aspects of the craft before settling back in Melbourne in 2019. Outside her work in TeamMak, she is currently studying psychological science and working towards becoming a clinical neuropsychologist. 

Coming from a family of IBOs, Kara takes pride in supporting TeamMak and its leaders as they continue to grow and carry on the legacy that Peter and Helen have created.

Financial Controller

Dawn Hutchinson

Dawn Hutchinson, our Financial Controller, joined TeamMak in January 2019 under memorable circumstances: she brought her 6-month-old son to her interview after childcare fell through that day. Transitioning from a background in Health and Wellness, Dawn found TeamMak’s multi-faceted structure a challenging yet rewarding learning curve.

Dawn began her career in the Health and Fitness Industry in 2004, focusing on women’s health issues in her hometown of Waterford, Ireland. She managed a fitness franchise and led nutrition classes until 2009. In 2008, while attending a fitness convention in the UK, Dawn joined Curves mentorship team, supporting franchise launches across Europe, Asia, and Australia, achieving breakeven for new centers.

Relocating to Australia in 2012, Dawn settled in Darwin, where she managed a busy General Practice, completed her Diploma in Leadership in Healthcare, and became a Certified Practice Manager. Seeking a change after starting a family, Dawn moved to Melbourne in 2019 and joined TeamMak, initially in administrative support, then evolving into managing day-to-day financial operations. She enjoys the supportive and flexible TeamMak culture that fosters personal growth and leadership development.

Mark McIntosh

Mark McIntosh has been an Independent Business Owner (IBO) with TeamMak and Amway since 2004, contributing over two decades of experience to the organisation.

As the Content and Data Coordinator for TeamMak, Mark plays a pivotal role in managing the back-end operations of TeamMak.com and ensuring the smooth execution of all TeamMak events.

His background includes working as an AppleCare employee, where he gained technical expertise and customer support skills, and with GS1 Australia, where he developed a strong understanding of business processes and the importance of unified standards.

Mark’s diverse skill set and dedication make him an integral part of the TeamMak family.

Dom & Karina McKenna

Dom and Karina McKenna are dedicated Amway leaders continuing the legacy of Team Mak, originally founded by Peter and Helen McKenna. Dom, with a background in law, and Karina, in administration have grown the Amway business across Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Their mission is rooted in supporting IBO’s through mentorship, personal development, and leadership training, empowering others to achieve their fullest potential. Through their commitment, Dom and Karina have expanded Team Mak’s impact, fostering a community of growth, integrity, and service. Today, they carry forward the values of empowerment and connection that were first instilled by Peter and Helen, ensuring the legacy continues to inspire future generations.

Founders

Peter & Helen McKenna

Peter and Helen McKenna were the founders of Team Mak, with their journey beginning in 1980 when they started their Amway business. They achieved Diamond status in 1990 and reached Founders Executive Diamond in 2022. Peter, an air traffic controller, and Helen, a high school teacher, built their legacy through commitment, leadership, and a passion for empowering others. Peter was a long-standing member of the Amway Growth Advisory Committee, significantly contributing to the Australian and New Zealand markets for over four decades. Diagnosed with Leukemia in August 2023, Peter fought bravely for a year. His legacy of leadership and integrity continues through Helen, and their children, Dom and Karina, ensuring his vision lives on.
